Cinnabon is a sweetheart and is looking for a placement as a highly trained emotional support dog and/or pet. She bonds very tightly with her people - she will cuddle with her person all day long if you let her and she can’t get close enough to you. She loves belly rubs and will melt if she gets them. When she’s not cuddling, Cinna loves being on the move! She is spunky and playful, and loves playing fetch with her ball. She is looking for a family who will cuddle her daily and keep her active.
**We prefer not to place her in a home with small children. 12+ will be fine, or younger children that are mature and respectful with dogs. (See below for details.)
Cinnabon has changed careers from our service dog program and is available to a pet/ESA only home. She is the absolute cuddliest dog and is going to make an amazing addition to someone's family!
Cinnabon is an incredibly sweet, spunky, cuddly, and intelligent dog who is food- and praise- motivated. She loves to train and picks up on training quickly. She bonds very tightly with her people and absolutely lives for praise and cuddles from her person. We have yet to meet a dog that loved snuggling more than this sweet girl. She will cuddle with her person all day long if you let her and she can’t get close enough to you. She loves belly rubs and will melt if she gets them. When she’s not cuddling, Cinna loves being on the move! She is spunky and playful, and loves playing fetch with her ball. She is looking for a family who will cuddle her daily and keep her active. She is calm in the home when her needs are met.
We could see her doing well in sport work or hunting as well.
Cinnabon is good with cats and fine with chickens.
She's good in the bath and decent on the grooming table.
Cinna's Training: Obedience (sit, down, implied stays, recall, place, loose leash walking, heel, leave it, door boundaries, kennel, house manners), Deep pressure therapy (lap, hugs)
Reasoning for her career change:
1) She takes a while to warm up to strangers and thus isn't happy in public places because she’s worried strangers will want to pet her. This would affect her ability to have public access rights or to effectively perform tasks for a partner while in public. However, this won't affect her as a pet in someone's home.
2) She is sometimes vocal when people who come to the door or walk by. This isn't excessive or constant, and she listens when we ask her to stop. This would only be a problem as a service dog, and most people don't mind this with their pet dogs.
3) She will either need to be an only dog or be with other dogs that are self-confident that won't fall for or allow her stancing behaviors. She’s good with her littermate brother and with other self-confident dogs, especially males. She has learned to co-exist peacefully with our females, but does not prefer them. If you have another dog, we will arrange for a playdate with your dog to ensure they get along. We prefer not to place her in a home with small children, just to be on the safe side.
History: Cinna was acquired due to a family illness. Her parentage is unknown to us.
Health Testing: We have done an Embark DNA test on her with the following results: One copy of Von Willebrand Disease Type I (Type I vWD), a blood clotting disorder. With only one copy, she may not be affected or it may be very mild. The vet was unconcerned, and her spay surgery went well with no excessive bleeding. As long as your vet knows she has one copy, they will be proactive for procedures and you will likely never see this being an issue. Other DNA issues tested are CLEAR.
Her littermate brother has also had OFA testings for eyes (clear), basic cardiac (clear), and hip preliminaries (inconclusive - will redo at 24 mos of age). Her results are likely to be similar to his.
