Cinnabon is a sweetheart and is looking for a placement as a highly trained emotional support dog and pet. She bonds very tightly with her people - she will cuddle with her person all day long if you let her and she can’t get close enough to you. She loves belly rubs and will melt if she gets them. When she’s not cuddling, Cinna is always on the move! She is spunky and playful, and loves playing fetch with her ball. She is looking for a family who will keep her active.
**We will not be placing her in a home with small children. (See below for details.)
Cinnabon has officially changed careers from our service dog program and is available to a pet/ESA only home. She is the cuddliest dog and is going to make an amazing addition to someone's family!
Cinnabon is sweet, spunky, cuddly, intelligent, and food- and praise- motivated. She bonds very tightly with her people. She will cuddle with her person all day long if you let her and she can’t get close enough to you. She loves belly rubs and will melt if she gets them. When she’s not cuddling, Cinna is always on the move! She is spunky and playful, and loves playing fetch with her ball. She is looking for a yard she can run in and a family who will keep her active. We could see her doing well in sport work as well. She's learning to be calm in the home when asked.
Cinnabon is good with cats and fine with fenced chickens. She's good in the bath and a tad squirmy on the grooming table but very workable. Good travelling in a vehicle and does not get carsick.
Cinna's Training: Obedience (sit, down, implied stays, recall, place, loose leash walking, heel, leave it, door boundaries, kennel, house manners), Deep pressure therapy (lap, over, hugs)
Reasoning for her career change: 1) She takes a while to warm up to strangers and thus isn't happy in public places because she’s worried strangers will want to pet her. This would affect her ability to have public access rights or to effectively perform tasks for a partner while in public. However, this won't affect her as a pet in someone's home. 2) She does not like to share with others, and doesn’t play well with other female dogs. She’s good with her littermate brother, but doesn’t enjoy the company of our other dogs. (She tries asserting dominance over our female dogs, which has led to scuffles but no injuries to anyone involved.) She has learned to co-exist peacefully with them, though she still doesn'twant to play with them. She will need to be the only dog in her new home or we will arrange for a playdate with your dog to ensure they get along. We will not be placing her in a home with small children, just to be on the safe side. 3) She chuffs/barks at people who come to the door or people walking by. This isn't loud or excessive, and she listens when we ask her to stop. This would only be a problem as a service dog, and most people don't mind this with their pet dogs.
History: Cinna was acquired due to a family illness. Her parentage is unknown to us.
Health Testing: We have done an Embark DNA test on her with the following results: One copy of Von Willebrand Disease Type I (Type I vWD), a blood clotting disorder. With only one copy, she may not be affected or it may be very mild. The vet was unconcerned.
2 notables (1 copy) that will never affect her, only offspring - she will not be bred. All other issues tested are CLEAR.
Her littermate brother has also had OFA testings for eyes (clear), basic cardiac (clear), and hip preliminaries (inconclusive - will redo at 24 mos of age). Her results are likely to be similar to his.
